How we met
Gabrielle and Connor met at the University of Alabama their senior year. It was a humid night at Galettes infamous Wine Wednesday. They immediately hit it off and talked to the entire night. They both went home knowing they had met someone special.
A few days later, Connor asked their mutual friend for Gabrielle‘s number and invited her to grab margaritas at another T-Town hotspot, Taco Mama. Their courtship continued with a rose being delivered to the Delta Gamma house as an invitation to Sigma Phi Epsilon‘s Titanic themed date party. After a few more sorority and fraternity date parties and lots of real dates too. They made their relationship official just before Thanksgiving break in 2018.
An important side story: Their relationship was blooming during the peak of the “icing” era. “Icing” is a drinking game in which one person conceals a bottle of Smirnoff Ice in a place in which another person will find it. Once found, they are immediately required to kneel and drink the entire 12oz bottle. Gabrielle and Connor iced each other the night of their first date party, and since then they’ve become known as a power couple at this game. More on this later…
After graduating in the spring of 2019, Gabrielle lined up a job in New York City and Connor took a job in Connecticut. They visited each other almost every weekend and learned how to be adults together. Less than a year later, Connor landed his dream job in Chicago so they did long distance for a bit before Connor could persuade her to move to the third coast in 2022.
The Proposal
Connor finally proposed in August 2024! He got down on one knee on another humid day, this time on the Chicago lakefront. First he pulled out a Smirnoff Ice, then the ring. They spent the rest of that labor day weekend celebrating with their families.
As they say, the rest is history. Though, this actually brings us to the special event you’ve been invited to gather for, where their history will continue to be made with you bearing witness.
Prepare for a weekend to remember celebrating the future, Mr. and Mrs. Dosch!
